So you want to be working in the aviation industry? You have that dream of becoming a cabin crew? Who wouldn\u2019t want the opportunity to be a global brand ambassador flying to all four corners of the world!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Since I started blogging about aviation many years back, one of the most frequently asked question is \u201cHow do I become a flight steward\/stewardess?\u201d<\/em>. I have tried answering each of the emails with quite the same reply, \u201cyou can try attending the walk-in interviews organised by various airlines throughout the year and make sure you are well prepared\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Well I guess many took my advice and went to try their luck, but very few that really understand the second part of my statement which is \u201c\u2026make sure you are well prepared\u201d<\/em>. In the end many came home frustrated and demotivated after failing at the rigorous multiple stages of evaluation.<\/p>\n

So how do you prepare for such interview? The obvious answer is by learning from various sources and \u201cguru\u201d. Yes, go search on the Internet on many topics related to aviation and hospitality (and I really mean it when I say MANY!) also ways to highlight and improve your personal skills and strength. you need to also talk to those who have already been in the industry and those who have attended similar interviews in the past. Impossible? No. Hard-work, YES!<\/p>\n

Alternatively, why don\u2019t you consider learning all this in a more formal and structured manner and earn a formal certificate at the end of the day?! This is where academies like Aircademy<\/a> comes into the picture.<\/p>\n

One of their effort in preparing their students is by inviting guest speakers from the industry. I was invited to speak about my experience as an aviation blogger and a frequent traveler recently.<\/p>\n

I had an awesome time interacting with the students which I can see are ready to conquer the job market out there \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

It was an evening session, so I made sure it was not a one-way traffic. We played some cool Instagram\/twitter games and I spoke quite a bit on how social media can change the landscape of customer service.<\/p>\n

Many thanks to the trainers for the invitation. By the way trainers at Aircademy are people with real-life experience as a cabin crew so they know what they are talking about \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s hope that I get the chance to talk to the students more often. I don\u2019t mind doing this as it is my little contribution in making our airlines\/airports excel even more with good quality of front-liners.<\/p>\n
