Three of the attractions visited are the beautiful and iconic beach of Teluk Cempedak, the \u2018one-stop-souvenir\u2019 centre of Natural Batik Village and the famous dried sea products at Sin Kee Hung.<\/p>\n<p>This post is suitable for those who have about half a day to spend in Kuantan and do not want to explore the surrounding towns like Gambang, Pekan and Sungai Lembing. <\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll start with <strong>Pantai Teluk Cempedak<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>If Venice has its canals and Paris has the Eiffel Tower, Kuantan folks are very proud of its own icon, the Teluk Cempedak. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.photobucket.com\/albums\/v37\/azuan1880\/blogs\/2011\/telukcempedak\/1.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Located within Kuantan borders, only 5km from the city centre, Teluk Cempedak is the place to be for anyone visiting Kuantan. The white sandy beach facing the South China Sea is a great place for swimming, sun-bathing, kite-flying, sailing, wind surfing, water-skiing and jet ski. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.photobucket.com\/albums\/v37\/azuan1880\/blogs\/2011\/telukcempedak\/2.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also a perfect place to unwind after a long day at work.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.photobucket.com\/albums\/v37\/azuan1880\/blogs\/2011\/telukcempedak\/3.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p> And of course for couples wanting to spend time chatting dan \u2018lain-lain\u2019 hehe our friendly tour guide showing one of the many common poses in Teluk Cempedak. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.photobucket.com\/albums\/v37\/azuan1880\/blogs\/2011\/telukcempedak\/4.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>With so many different people coming in for different activities, it makes Teluk Cempedak the perfect venue for my favourite activity which is People Watching<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.photobucket.com\/albums\/v37\/azuan1880\/blogs\/2011\/telukcempedak\/5.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I still find it hard to believe that such a beautiful beach can be maintained clean despite having so many visitors. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.photobucket.com\/albums\/v37\/azuan1880\/blogs\/2011\/telukcempedak\/6.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Facilities like wooden walkaway\/platform, toilets, food stalls, fast food outlets and natural tree shades allow easier and more comfortable access to visitors. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.photobucket.com\/albums\/v37\/azuan1880\/blogs\/2011\/telukcempedak\/7.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For visitors to Teluk Cempedak, leave your pets behind. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.photobucket.com\/albums\/v37\/azuan1880\/blogs\/2011\/telukcempedak\/8.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Teluk Cempedak has its own \u2018pets\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>On that day, I spotted the monitor lizard<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.photobucket.com\/albums\/v37\/azuan1880\/blogs\/2011\/telukcempedak\/9.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p> and the macaques monkeys<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.photobucket.com\/albums\/v37\/azuan1880\/blogs\/2011\/telukcempedak\/10.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>While Teluk Cempedah has a few stalls selling souvenirs, I would strongly suggest for those looking for souvenirs to go to the Natural Batik Village instead.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.photobucket.com\/albums\/v37\/azuan1880\/blogs\/2011\/telukcempedak\/11.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>  <\/p>\n<p>This is the place for visitors to get all kinds of \u2018ole-ole\u2019 or souvenir from Kuantan all under one roof.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.photobucket.com\/albums\/v37\/azuan1880\/blogs\/2011\/telukcempedak\/12.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Being mainly a batik factory, visitors can also watch live batik demonstration.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.photobucket.com\/albums\/v37\/azuan1880\/blogs\/2011\/telukcempedak\/13.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And even try your skills on batik stamping.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.photobucket.com\/albums\/v37\/azuan1880\/blogs\/2011\/telukcempedak\/14.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>No, this is not a batik meal! <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.photobucket.com\/albums\/v37\/azuan1880\/blogs\/2011\/telukcempedak\/15.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>End product.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.photobucket.com\/albums\/v37\/azuan1880\/blogs\/2011\/telukcempedak\/16.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Visitors can buy multiple batik products and also usual souvenirs like key chains, fridge magnets, etc<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.photobucket.com\/albums\/v37\/azuan1880\/blogs\/2011\/telukcempedak\/17.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.photobucket.com\/albums\/v37\/azuan1880\/blogs\/2011\/telukcempedak\/18.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But if you are someone like me who usually avoid all these touristy souvenirs, then Sin Kee Hung might be the place for you. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.photobucket.com\/albums\/v37\/azuan1880\/blogs\/2011\/telukcempedak\/19.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is a famous place to get all the cheap and good dried seafood and \u2018ikan masin\u2019<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.photobucket.com\/albums\/v37\/azuan1880\/blogs\/2011\/telukcempedak\/20.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The dried fish. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.photobucket.com\/albums\/v37\/azuan1880\/blogs\/2011\/telukcempedak\/21.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Udang Kering<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.photobucket.com\/albums\/v37\/azuan1880\/blogs\/2011\/telukcempedak\/22.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The shop has also some delicious snacks that I enjoyed while waiting for the rest to shop. Halal certs are displayed at the counter. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.photobucket.com\/albums\/v37\/azuan1880\/blogs\/2011\/telukcempedak\/23.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There you go, from white sandy beach to souvenirs and ikan masin. The right combination if you are visiting Kuantan on a half-day trip. Also don\u2019t forget to try Kuantan delicious food as shared in my previous <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azuanzahdi.com\/index.php\/2011\/12\/17\/yummy-licious-food-in-kuantan\/\">blog post here<\/a>.
