Yes, I am not known to be loyal (except when it comes to family and my other half of course). I use various brands of toothpaste, shower gels, smartphones, cameras and stuff. Variety is something that I sort of enjoy.
So it is no surprise that when it comes to flying I don’t really stick to one particular airline. For those who follow my blog since 2006, you would notice that my rule#1 has always been whichever airline that could transport me from point A to point B at the lowest price. At least it was like that for a few years.
However it all changed in 2014 when I started to realise that with maybe a bit of loyalty it would give me some benefits that I could really enjoy. This is when I decided to re-discover Enrich, Malaysia Airlines loyalty programme which I have been a member since year 2004. For 11 years, I have been collecting points only for it to be expired as I remain stuck in the “Enrich blue” category.
Thanks to a very active year in 2015, I finally got enough points to be upgraded!
Hello Enrich Silver.
Sure, it is far from Gold or Platinum, but it is still an upward shift. A sign of loyalty. Something that now influence the choice of my air travel.
I had the chance to utilise the Enrich Silver privileges during the December trip to Beijing. It is definitely nice being able to use Business Class counters for check-in (when travel on economy) as well as the additional 5kg extra baggage allowance – the 2 main advantages of silver tier IMHO.
Fortunately, the good news does not stop there. Enrich now offers various promotions beyond their main product of air travel. You can actually earn your miles (although it would not be an Elite Miles), via your credit card spending (which I have been doing for the last 2 years) as well as through a few other partners like hotels, car rentals and travel sites. Enrich Miles are also redeemable for a host of travel and lifestyle products.
So yes, bring your Enrich card with you even when you’re not flying.
What is more interesting is Enrich’s recent campaign which members can enjoy discounts for various events in Malaysia. Last December, Enrich members get to enjoy 10% off for tickets to watch Hi-5 live show in Malaysia.
And today Enrich by Malaysia Airlines once again brings family and friends together through their #NoDistanceIstooFar and #DekatJe campaign by inviting members to watch the #Enrich5Divo Concert in Malaysia.
Yes, that is right. 5 stars from Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia will be on stage for this one-night only show. Those who are familiar with the local music scene would know what these 5 talented lads are able to deliver. Pure awesome vocal.
Thanks to Enrich, many will be able to witness the show with discountes tickets of up to 20%!
I am all set for the concert!
Ok, maybe those shades are not really required for tonight, can’t have additional Divo right?
I will probably re-edit this post with photos from the concert later.
So with all these benefits, it does not hurt to be loyal. Head on to Malaysia Airlines’ website and sign up for Enrich (it’s free!).
You might be thinking that this is a one off AzuanZahdi.com blog post to promote Enrich. Well that is not quite the case. Now that I’ve reached Enrich Silver tier, it is my aim to first retain the status (30 sectors in 2016) and then aim for an upgrade to Gold (50 sectors). Therefore I’m coming out with a gameplan for #AzuanZahdi50SectorMission which I will share the progress here soon. A bit of a hint, one of the future posts will talk about my attempt to fly 6 routes in one day! That will literally describe #DekatJe 🙂
