Ramadan al-Mubarak 2009 / 1430H

Ramadan al-Mubarak is here once again. A month of blessing, designated by fasting, special prayers and charity. More than just being a holy month, Ramadan reflects its credibility for devotion to Allah.

Personally, I always see the month of Ramadan as a ‘reflection-point’ for me to reflect back what I’ve done throughout the year as a Muslim. It is the time where I will usually look through the past 12-months and ask myself questions like, have I been practicing the right way-of-life as a Muslim? Have I carried out my responsibilities to Allah, my family, my wife and community at large? Have I achieved the right balance in whatever I’m doing daily?

It is the time of the year where I answer these questions and re-align my goals to be on the right track. It is a humbling experience to recap what I’ve achieved at the age of 27 years old and I always remind myself that whatever I’ve gained in my life can be taken away within split seconds, so be grateful of what I have.

This year, for the first time, I’ll be celebrating the holy month of Ramadan with my wife, my latest responsibility in life. It is a lovely feeling indeed, to break fast (iftar) with my wife and family and we look forward for the next 30 wonderful days.

To all my guests at azuanzahdi.com, have a good Ramadan!
