The Delicious Ayam Penyet Ria

If there’s something I like the most about Indonesia is it’s pretty girls good food. Whether it’s Jakarta, Aceh or Bali, I enjoyed every single meal I had on my trip to these places. Thankfully now with so many Indonesians in Malaysia, finding a good Indonesian food is as easy as getting haze from the other side of straits of Malacca each year

Allow me to introduce my favorite Indonesian restaurant in Klang Valley, Restoran Ayam Penyet Ria. Penyet or mashed is a word commonly associated to something not pleasant looking but in this context, Ayam Penyet refers to something very delicious which is the main dish at this restaurant.

Located right across Sunway Pyramid, you can’t miss this restauraunt if you’re stuck in a jam at the LDP intersection traffic light near Sunway Pyramid. Ayam Penyet Ria is on the same row as Old Town Kopitiam, to be exact this is the address.

The restaurant is not a fancy restaurant. It’s simple and famous amongst Indonesians especially students from nearby colleges. Being simple, it offers great food at great prices!

A glimpse of the available choice of food. Self-service, tick on your order and pass the sheet to any of the waiter/waitress.

Ayam Penyet (or any other Penyet dish) is prepared by smashing the chicken (hence the term mashed), deep fried and served with crunchy bits on the top, with spicy sambal, fried tempe, fried tofu and vegetables.

Ayam Penyet and rice will definitely make you full. OF course there are other meals that can be ordered to make the eating experience more memorable.

I had all this a few hours ago with my siblings. Few hours have passed and I still can’t sleep as I’m too full. A good but heavy meal indeed!
