What I Experience Every Single Day

One of many wonders of the world is definitely “KL traffic”. If you’re working in KL you’ll know what I mean. Number of cars kept increasing and new highways are being built continuously. GCE, DUKE, SMART, NPE< LDP, ELITE, KESAS, NKVE. You name it you got it. Despite having all these expensive highways, traffic jam is still there.

The worst case is when drivers like me who pay RM12.60 passing through 8 tolls every day still have to be stuck in traffic jam. I mean sometimes I do feel like an idiot for forking out my hard earned cash to be in a bumper-to-bumper jam.

In SMART Tunnel for example, the jam started before even paying for the toll. It does give me the feeling that I’m paying RM2 just to join the fun of crawling through the long tunnel!

In reality, KL traffic is really not that bad. Thanks to the existence of many highways it is actually quite acceptable (as long as you’re willing to pay). In my personal opinion what makes our traffic jam bad is our own attitude. The typical Malaysian Drivers attitude.

The famous one in Smart Tunnel every morning. There are two single-lane entrance at each side of the tunnel. Too bad most Malaysians don’t know (or I think it’s more of don’t want) to queue up and decide to create their own lane. This is followed by the next car, and the next car, and the next car and tadaaaaaa we have a traffic jam!

Squeeeeeeze into one lane….

This is shifting from just annoying to actually dangerous…4 lanes into 2 lanes INSIDE the tunnel.

Malaysia Boleh!

But the real wonder of KL Traffic is when it’s school holiday. Suddenly the traffic is so clear that I can cut my traveling time to work by almost half! Anyone care to explain why?

We don’t have that many school kids driving, right?
