After a 2 full days of touring around Bali, the 3rd day was planned to be a relaxing day. A bit of shopping, tour, beach and spa. First stop was a short van-ride to Erlangga 2, a wholesaler style in Denpasar for all-you-can-find Bali souvenirs. Shopping here is the best as you don’t have to bargain, it’s all fixed price, cheap and accept credit cards. Jiji and I spent a couple of hours buying a couple of t-shirts, coffee, peanuts and other Bali stuff.

A good reason to bring extra bag when you go to Bali.

We then made our way on a couple of hour drive to Bedugul. Traveling by road in Bali can be challenging thanks to the small winded road.

Upon approaching Bedugul, we stopped by the side of the road to enjoy this nice view.

The mountain resort of Bedugul, 18 Km north of Denpasar, is known for the excellent view of Lake Bratan. The lake is surrounded by forested hills and offers a majestic view from all angles.

A beautiful sight is the “Ulun Danu” temple which sems to out of the lake. The area offers good walks. Boats are available for was skiing and parasailing.

Also in Candi Kuning, we visited the market, unique for its local trading of fruits, vege and local-made crafts. If you can’t find this place, look for this huge landmark.

Excellent fruits, thanks to its high altitude climate.

A must-try is the corn here. One piece cost me a mere RM0.30. I did not even want to bargain. Delicious.

A couple of hours drive and we were ready to end the day in Kuta Beach, the famous beach in Bali. A good place for people-watching and enjoy the beach and high waves.

A famous beach = crowded beach.

Nevertheless, once you managed to dodge the people trying to sell you something, you would probably find a good place to rest and enjoy the waves and sunset.

Kuta beach is also the location of Hard Rock Hotel and Hard Rock Café. It’s worth mentioning that I don’t like the live band in HRC Bali. Too westernized and a choice of boring genre. At least when we were there.
A short 10-mins walk to our hotel, from Kuta we stoppedn by at the Bali Bombing Memorial. The only sign of the bombing was this memorial, without this I guess no one remembers and no one seems to be bothered. It can be clearly seen that clubs and nightlife around this memorial are very much alive and showing no sign of slowing down.

We end our trip in Bali with a nice lobster and full body spa. Awesome treat for myself.

~Bali was overated, in my opinion. If you;re into culture, this is a great place to be as it balanced between culture and modern entertainment. For me, i was expecting a relaxed island but instead i find Bali as a typical tourist destination full with none other than tourist. Will i come again if i have a choice? No. I would rather visit Jakarta or any other indonesian places ~

hi.. i was there from the 23rd to 26th april. a day earlier than you, but we haven’t even met there! haha.. great pictures!
wowww…. i like Bali!
Maybe you tried too hard to cover the whole bali within 3-4 days hence making it less fun and enjoyable. Next time, try to focus on what YOU LIKE and you’ll enjoy Bali.
Haha patut macam ternampak muka kenal (konon jer!)
Yeah, i guess Bali is that big
Jimmy: you got a valid point, to be honest some of the attractions are really not worth the long drive. A good experience nevertheless.
Ridz: Bro, gambar ku biasa2. Tak leh lawan camera kau.
aku jeles jeles jeles tp best la, especially time ko mkn jagung tu.sedap beno rupe nye jagung yg ko ngap ngap tu.
I don’t exactly agree with you – Bali isn’t that bad you know
Maybe they’re right, you guys were trying to cover the Island within a very short period of time, hence the perception. I spent 4-5 days last time when I was there, yet I didn’t manage to go to Uluwatu, Mount Agung and many more places
Yup. I agree. I should have try to cover less within that short period of time. Next time (if i can afford la!) will just chill out at Nusa Dua and Kuta
i would like to ask the the oasis hotel not so good?? i plan to stay in this hotel..
plz tell me the detail. thanks!!
then u should try Gili Trawangan or Gili Aer in Lombok. another island next to Bali.
An interesting discussion is worth comment. I think that you should write more on this topic, it might not be a taboo subject but generally people are not enough to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers
