Odense, Denmark Trip – August 2008

My previous trip reports:
London Trip August 2008 – Day 1
London Trip August 2008 – Day 2

I’ve left London and now in Odense, the third largest city in Denmark, roughly an 80 minutes high-speed train ride from Copenhagen. I’ve been here for the last 2 days and I’ve been occupied with business matters but nevertheless still managed to squeeze some time exploring the beautiful Odense. Odense is one of the oldest cities of Denmark and had its 1000th anniversary in 1988. Famous for being the place of birth of famous author and poet Hans Christian Andersen (Little Mermaid, Thumbelina, The Ugly Duckling).

I took a British Airways flight from London Heathrow to Copenhagen Kastrup, Denmark. Pretty cool to fly on BA and on an A319 for the 1st time.

Leaving London

The plane that was part of an incident not long time ago

and yes..BA serves “Snack Box? as well but it looks and tastes much better than MAS’s snackbox

Approaching Copenhagen…an interesting sight

I managed to explore Copenhagen for a couple of hours before making the train ride to Odense. I’ll also tour Copenhagen tomorrow before leaving for London and KL so I’ll combining all the photos in a post for Copenhagen in few days time.

After half a day or traveling, finally arriving in Odense; Century Plaza Hotel, a classic hotel with some modern touch. The old elevator and old furniture in my room freaked me out a bit but it’s all ok.

Beautiful…

Some sights around my Hotel in Odense

A high school

A typical building in the city

Isn’t it amazing?

Cycling is as famous as riding a motorbike in KL. Here almost everyone utilize the dedicated bike lane. An excellent initiative for mature nature.

And of course…lots of nice green park.

There’s hardly any English on the signs and maps but it’s not that difficult to navigate

A bad thing about traveling alone, some Danish dude who did not get the point of taking photo took this photo for me. I don’t mind not having my feet on the photo but to crop off the statue’s head just beat the point, isn’t it?

Nicely maintained building

A Malaysian who never see an apple tree.

The old elevator..classic

Odense Theater

It is worth exploring this beautiful city. Simply beautiful 🙂

Some interesting snapshots…

A restaurant with a unique signage.

You’ll see a lot of this in Denmark. The use of the word “Fart?

Isnt it always in the middle? Hehe

There’s also a “I Fart? button in the elevator which I’ll try to get a photo.

It makes me laugh,,,but nothing beats this
