Fresh from my little Earth Hour observation last night, I was in the mood for being part of more environmental awareness programme. This morning I took the initiative to wake up at 6am (on a Sunday morning!) to drive 50km +- to FRIM for an Eco Nature Walk organized by the company I’m currently attached with.
After some early morning maneuvering through unexpected traffic jam in Kepong due to Qing Ming (Chinese All-Souls Day) festival , I managed to get myself to FRIM’s compound surrounded with the nice ambience of nature. It’s amazing such beautiful place is accessible within minutes from the ever bustling city centre of KL.

The programme’s objectives is to create awareness on our role towards sustaining our environment and it is great to see parents bringing their kids to share the knowledge on nature at the very early stage. Kudos to both the organizers and participants!
The main agenda is a 1km uphill trail walk + 0.5km steep hill walk/climb to reach the 200 meters long Walkway Canopy (basically its just a 30meters high suspension bridge/jambatan gantung!) and a downhill walk of 1km.
This is the starting of the trail. 1.5km to go before reaching the canopy walk..

Still fresh!

Saw this beautiful Pokok Kapur, as you can see the trees are unique in a way that it won’t touch each other no matter how tall the trees are. This species of trees here in FRIM was featured on the National Geographic.

1.5KM later…..freaking tired and out-of-gas…. I’m not fit at all thanks to all the crazy food I walloped all the time and no proper consistent exercise. Luckily the view was nice although I nearly puke due to lack of breath… The kids around me seems fine…damn it!

The highlight of the event. A great attraction with a nice view ![]()

…and pretty scary at times. I left my real cameraat home, because i’m still paranoid of having my camera drop for the second time. So only phone cam photos.

All and all it was pretty fun and reminded me of ATV Adventure that I has last year. Maybe I should spend more time appreciating nature
