Earth Hour 2008 – Part 2: Changing The World!

Earth Hour 2008 – Part 2: Changing The World!

I did my part…. For one hour between 8pm-9pm, I switched off my lights, air-con and other unnecessary electrical appliances as part of a symbolic gesture of Global Warning awareness carried out worldwide known as Earth Hour 2008. If you live in cave and never heard about Earth Hour, do read my previous post here or go straight to Earth Hour’s website.

Earth Hour is a Sydney/Australia thingy and received full blast news coverage. Here in good old Malaysia, many are aware and taking part to make a different. However the number is small and we can’t really see the physical difference of people turning off the lights.

Anyway, I am happy to be able to spread the message and see people around me getting involved in this great initiative. Here are some, kudos to them!

A friend using Friendster’s Bulletin to spread the message..

A lift in my office…posters in every elevator:

Even Maybank2U is playing a part!

A friend spreading the message via MSN Messenger

I even got a Happy Earth Hour SMS!

In the end it goes beyond switching off lights for one hour, but this is a good beginning and reminder for all!

And I’m proud to be part of it…even if it’s just one small room of mine :)

Tomorrow, I’m joining a group of colleagues taking part in a nature walk programme in FRIM. More about it tomorrow.

Good weekend everyone.
