Forget about flowers, candy, CDs….they are all pretty common. Thanks to a Government officer and many other ‘victims’ of wireless spy cam i would like to introduce the best gift you can give to a female companion.

Introducing the gift for the year 2008, Wireless Camera Detector!
So what is a wireless cam detector?
WiseGeek.com defines wireless cam dtector as follows:
A wireless camera detector is a small battery-operated device that scans certain frequencies looking for the signals emitted by hidden wireless security cameras. If it detects such a signal it alerts by flashing a LED light or sounding an alarm.
Wireless security cameras are miniature battery-operated spy cameras that can be hidden virtually anywhere. They transmit a signal to a receiver that can surreptitiously record activity when movement triggers the camera. Commonly called “nanny cams” for their notoriety in catching abusive caretakers in the act, these cameras have also been used to unscrupulously record people in public changing rooms, hotel rooms, public restrooms, in rented apartments and houses and in a variety of settings assumed to be private. Discovering that one of these highly affordable, tiny devices is watching and recording surreptitiously is close to impossible without a wireless camera detector.
A wireless camera detector, about the size of a cigarette lighter, is small enough to carry in your pocket or purse. It only needs to be switched on and slowly waved or pointed in various directions. You can walk through your home with it, bring it shopping and use it when you step into a changing stall or restroom, or switch it on anywhere else you expect a high degree of privacy. The detector will quickly confirm your trust or alert you that an intrusive wireless camera is watching.
I always ask my Girlfriend and girlfriends to be extra careful when it comes to using public toilets especially in ‘high-risk’ areas. Generally speaking Malaysia is safe from all this kind of pervert actions but you never know until it’s too late right?
I try to look for this device in stores but could not find any, maybe i’m looking at the wrong stores. One thing that annoys me is how easy it is to but those small spy-cams in IT malls across the nation at a very afforcable price but this ‘prevention’ detector is very difficult to find.
Look at some of the mini-spycam i found off the net. it’s very easy to hide from our eyes..

Even in a form of cap

Scary isnt it?
E-bay has offered me a few options although i seldom buy things online especially from an auction site. Click here for one of it that cost RM99. I bet it’s expensive and you can get it cheaper in the stores outside Malaysia.
My advice, if you have friends/gf/sisters/relatives that are frequent traveler especially they are using same room, invest on one of this. Better safe than sorry
If you can’t get this or it’s too expensive, there’s always the good old way of hand-check every corner, eevry angle, every gap, every hole, every part of the toilet, hotel room, dressing room that you use. This extra 1 minute might save your face one day
What do you think? Do you feel safe when using public toilets, changing room, cheap hotels? Share with me your views and experience by leaving comments to this post.
Cheers!
